Food, Produce and Grocery Freight Transportation

KAV provides food, produce and grocery freight transportation from Brampton, Ontario to customers across Canada and the United States. Most of what we haul is food, from farm-fresh produce to frozen meals, and our equipment, training and procedures are designed around keeping it safe, cold and on time. We also move dry retail and packaged goods for shippers who value a reliable, communicative carrier.

Food and beverage

Food processors, bakeries, dairies, meat packers and beverage producers trust us with chilled and frozen loads to distribution centres and retailers. We run reefers at the exact setpoint you specify, keep seal and temperature records on the bill of lading, and keep trailers clean and food-grade. For beverages and other freeze-sensitive products, we can run reefers in heat mode through the winter so nothing arrives frozen.

Fresh produce

Fresh fruit and vegetables leave the least margin for error. We pre-cool trailers before loading, follow the shipper's continuous or cycle instructions, and plan routes to avoid unnecessary stops. In the Ontario growing season we move greenhouse and field crops from Leamington, Niagara and Holland Marsh, and through the winter we bring imported produce north across the border from US distribution hubs.

Grocery and retail distribution

Grocery and retail distribution centres run on tight appointment schedules and strict receiving rules. Our drivers know the major DCs in the GTA, Quebec and Western Canada, arrive on time with clean paperwork, and handle the details that keep a receiver happy. Suppliers with regular volume often move to dedicated lane trucking so they have guaranteed capacity during promotions and holiday peaks.

Temperature-sensitive freight

Beyond food, we move products that must stay within a set range: floral and plants, confectionery, cosmetics, adhesives, coatings and other chemicals that cannot freeze or overheat. Packaged goods and general freight

Our 53' dry vans carry packaging, paper products, household goods and other palletized freight. Whether it is a one-time full truckload or a weekly shuttle, you get the same attention to pickup times, securement and communication as our reefer customers.
