Our Fleet: 53' Reefer Trailers, Dry Vans and Tractors

Owned, maintained and dispatched by us, so the right truck shows up in the right condition.

The KAV fleet is built for temperature-controlled and dry freight moving across Canada and into the United States. We run late-model highway tractors and 53-foot reefer and dry van trailers, all owned and maintained by us and dispatched from our Brampton, Ontario terminal. Owning our equipment means we control its condition, its availability and how quickly we can put a truck on your load.

Refrigerated trailers

Our reefers are the core of the fleet. Each trailer has a diesel refrigeration unit that can run in continuous or start/stop mode, and each unit is serviced before peak summer and winter seasons. Trailers are washed and inspected before food loads, and drivers pre-cool to the shipper's setpoint before loading. On request we can download the unit's temperature record for your shipment. Dry vans

For packaged food, beverages, packaging materials, retail goods and general freight that does not need temperature control, our 53' dry vans offer maximum cube and payload. In winter, many shippers use a reefer in heat mode instead to protect freeze-sensitive products, and we will advise which makes more sense for your freight.

Tractors

Our highway tractors are late-model sleepers chosen for reliability and driver comfort on long runs. Every truck is equipped with an electronic logging device, GPS tracking and hands-free communication with dispatch. Preventive maintenance is scheduled by kilometres and time, and every unit passes its annual inspection on schedule.

Technology on every truck

  • Electronic logging devices (ELDs) compliant in Canada and the US
  • Live GPS location visible to our dispatch team
  • Reefer unit monitoring and downloadable temperature records
  • Electronic proof-of-delivery documents sent with your invoice
